Col. Fielding Lewis

The first Fielding Lewis, married (1) in 1746, Catherine Washington, daughter of John & Catherine Whiting Washington. He married (2) in 1750 to Catherine's first cousin, Betty Washington, daughter of Augustine Washington and Mary Ball. Fielding lived first in Gloucester, then at "Pine Grove" in Stafford County, and at "Kenmore" in Fredericksburg. He was an officer in the Revolution and manufactured arms, sacrificing thousands of dollars of his personal fortune for which he was never repaid and he died insolvent. Kenmore was sold to pay his debts.
There was only one surviving child of the first - John Lewis, who was married 5 times.
