Elizabeth Clough, wife of Robert Anderson is seen with several sets of parents. The Poindexter references have her as daughter of Richard Clough & Anne Poindexter, whose marriage is recorded in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co VA. Anne's parentage not proven in the Poindexter family, but age puts her either as a child of George or child of Thomas. The dates are correct for this to be possible. Marriage of Anne & Richard Clough in 1718, Elizabeth born in 1722.
Others suggested parents include a Richard Clough who married Pleasant Hage in Bucks Co PA in 1712. This location seems rather suspect and far-fetched given that the families involved all lived in New Kent Co, the part that was St. Peter's and became St. Paul's Parish and eventually Louisa Co VA.
Another suggestion is a Richard Clough who married Cecelia Massie. She is also suggested as a spouse of Robert Anderson. Robert Anderson had a son Matthew whose given name was Cecelia. No other Cecelias have been proven in this time frame. I would suspect this to be completely erroneous and possibly to have come from the Ancestral File of the LDS church.
