A wedding of unual interest to Durant people was that Tuesday evening at Livingston, Texas, when Miss Katrine Low, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carol Low, of Durant, became the bride of Mr. Lyle West of Livingston. Following their honeymoon, the young couple will reside at Livingston, Texas, where Mr. West is employed by the Shell Oil Company.
The bride, the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carol Low, was graduated from Duncan High School in 1929, taking her A.B. Degree from East Central Teachers College, Ada, with the class of 1933.
...the coincident of this wedding, July 18th, was that both the bride and groom observed their birthdays on this day.

Katrine Duncan, 85, of Longview passed away April 13, 1998.
She is survived by her son, John West, and his Janey, of Livingston; daughter, Marion Gist, and her husband James of Longview; stepdaughters, Mary McCabe and Patti Powell; grandchildren, Tracy Gist Hutson and her husband Mike, Gary Gist, Greg Gist and wife Vickey, Paula West, Jennifer West, Jessica West and Kristen Hopson; and great granddaughter, Taylor Hutson.
....Interment at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
