Deed Book K, p.383 3 Aug 1802 State of NC to John Coe. 100 acres. #2183. Waters of Logans Crk, corner of his home tract & former line of Giles Hudspeth. Adj John Stuart's corner & line bet John Coe & John Joyner. Entered 28 Nov 1778.
In 1809 John Coe moved to the hill country of Jackson (now Clay) Co TN and stayed until after harvest in 1811. He then moved to Cumberland Co KY and settled on Kettle Creek; part of his land were within the bounds of Monroe Co when it was formed in 1820.
John Coe's will was dated 25 Nov 1853.
