Gentry Family in America lists a David among the children of Nicholas but gives the wrong family description for this David. Nicholas' son married Elizabeth Whitlock and moved from Louisa to Caroline County. David and his sister Mildred were named in the 1777 will of Thomas Whitlock, father of David's wife Elizabeth and Mildred's husband, William. David is further identified in a deed of sale of land to his brother Nicholas(18b). Three of David's sons, John N., Thomas, and Jesse moved to Buncombe County, North Carolina and were among the early settlers there. Their brother, Elias, followed them to Buncombe County in later years where their parents were eventually buried.

David and Sarah have Memorial pages on FindAGrave, and said buried Thomas Gentry Cemetery, Gainsboro, Jackson Co, TN. This is somewhat doubtful - here's the story.
THIS BURIAL SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH CAUTION! David died in Overton county, almost 7 miles away from this cemetery. Chances are, Overton not being very far from Jackson Co., that his remains were transported to Thomas Gentry Cemetery in Blackburn Fork and buried there. This is probably also true because David's widow, Sarah, moved back to Blackburn Fork immediatley after David's death where she eventually died and was buried at Thomas Gentry Cemetery. Chances are she would have wanted to have been buried with David and had him transported to Thomas Gentry Cemetery when he passed. Probably unmarked stone, row 1 with Sarah
