A family file found on FamilyTreeMaker users pages stated that the parents of Jane were Levi Curtis and Eunice Dearmond. Mark Hayden had been told that Samuel H. Haden's wife was a "Dearmond" but apparently this grandma of Eugene S. Haden was on the other side of the family. The name was likely DeArmond. Levi Curtis was in the 1840 East Feliciana Parish LA Census, Eunice was his second wife.

The parents of Jane Elizabeth (Curtis) Haden were:
LEVI CURTIS, born about 1788 - died about 1858. He was the son of BENJAMIN CURTIS (1749 - 14 March 1808) and MARY (_____) CURTIS (_____- 4 Sep 1825).
EUNICE "NICEY" (DEARMOND) CURTIS, born about 1790/1800 - died 21 Oct. 1839. She was the daughter of SAMUEL DEARMOND (1760 - Aug 1819) and ELIZABETH GREENE (1761 - ____).
