Tyree Martin's parents were James Martin and Sarah "Sally" Harris. He was born 6 Jan 1774, Albemarle and died 7 Sep 1849, Boone Co MO. Date of probate, 19 Dec 1849.

Tyre Martin came from Madison Co KY to St. Louis, MO in 1816, and on
to Boone Co, MO in 1818.
The New Salem Baptist Church of Jesus Christ was organized on the second Saturday in November 1828, at the home of Tyre and Mourning Martin, (the members had a joint letter of dismissal from the Little Bonne Femme Chuurch (also in Boone Co) for that purpose. Among the 36 charter members were: Tyre & Mourning Martin.
