PETER HENRY MORTON
Born: 17 May 1826 Russellville, Logan Co., Kentucky.
Married: 28 September 1848 Logan Co., Kentucky.
Peter Henry Morton traveled to the gold fields of California, promising to establish a home and send for his wife and children. With no further contact, Peter was presumed dead. The remaining Morton families provided financial and parental support in the rearing of his children. Years after his death, records bearing his signature proved he struck gold and married again in California, abandoning his wife & children in Kentucky.
