Alexus and Mary are buried Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, Illinois. His grave marker says "Gregory's III Mil Blk Hawk War"


The following is apparently the Will of his father, who was also an Alexus Jackson. An Everton FGS on MyHeritage has linked this will to the younger Alexus, but it isn't his. In order to explain the wife "Catherine" that same person gave Mary Harmon an extra name.

Last will and testament. To my beloved wife Catherine Jackson all my personal property and real estate during her life time, at her death to be equally divided amongst the heirs discounting what they have received from me except 40 acres on the East side of Eagle Creek adj that which I sold to Alexus, which I give and bequeath to my son Thomas exclusive of his share of the other property., Recived by my heirs which must stand against them:
Oldest son John, I gave a mare, valued at $100
To son Edward, an article for a piece of land valued at $100
To son Israel one pairof steers valued at $4
To son Alexus one horse at $50
Son Henry one horse at $50
Oldest daughter Sally, one cow & calf, bed & bedding
Second daughter Hannah, one cow & calf, bed & bedding
Third daughter Polly, two cows & calves, bed & bedding
Fourth daughter Barbara, one cow & calf, bed & bedding.
To my daughter Betsey, I give & bequeath one cow & calf & bed & bedding exclusive of her share.
My land in Huron Co Ohio, I wish to be sold and money equally divided at the death of my wife. The place we now live on to be kept during the life of my wife and then sold, together with my personal property & equally divided.

6 Mar 1826 Mathew Scriver & David McCurdy appeared in Court and on their oath swore to the last will & testament; Alexus Jackson was of sound mind. Scriver further saith that Alexus Jackson departed this life more than 14 days since, on the 8th of Feb 1826.
