1920 Census. Mora Co, New Mexico. Cecile had apparently gone back home and taken the children to live with her mother. She is in the household of Hollie R. Johnson, age 43, his wife Sarah Alice, age 45, a son Darril age 15. Cecile Holderness is named as step-daughter, age 24, Divorced. Doniban [sic] age 6 and Gwendolyn age 4 are step-grandchildren.

1930 Census. San Miguel Co, NM. Cecile had married again - head of household is Ora Ambrose. Cecile is given as born in Kansas, as were both her parents. [In 1920 her state of birth was given in MO, father's as MO her mother's as West Virginia] There are three children in the family. John, age 17, evidently a son of Ora Ambrose. Donovan is listed as a daughter and Gwendolyn as a son.; they were now 17 and 14 years old. Their father is listed as born in IN, no doubt because that's where Ora Ambrose was born and the children are not listed with the surname Holderness.

Came to live in Solano, New Mexico in 1911. Attended Dawson High School. Attended New Mexico Normal University [Now New Mexico Highlands] and Salt City Business College in Hutchison, Kansas. Taught in Solano, NM from 1920 to 1923. Worked at the Laubmann Oil Company for a number of years. Member of the Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
