1785, March 21. Pickel, Baltis, of Reading Township, Hunterdon Co; will of. Wife, Anna, £7 yearly, goods, etc. My three youngest children, Elizabeth, Henry and Mary, goods. Eldest son, Baltis 1/3 of my lands. Sons, Abraham and Henry, rest of lands. Baltis is to pay to his sister Margaret, the wife of Peter Miseroll, £50. Daughters, Elizabeth and Mary, £100 each. The note I hold against my son-in-law, Abraham Vanhorn, shall be given up to him. The note I hold against my son-in-law Christopher Melick, to be given up to him. There is an SAR application on Ancestry.com, claiming membership through Baltis Pickel, stating that he was a patriot - having loaned money to the Treasury of New Jersey. Also in old lineage book of NSDAR with the same service.

Certificate No. 101, dated Feb 29, 1780 for $360 Continental money, 3#.13.9 species, interest commenced Feb 24, 1780, interest to Jan 1, 1787 1#.10.2 same deposited in the Treasury.
Mabel Pickel Naylor, #251241, was admitted to NSDAR, 13 Apr 1929. She went through son Abraham has have several others. There are also members through Baltis's son Baltis and daughter Mary, although all those through claimed daughter Mary state there is a problem. I have never seen evidence of a daughter named Mary.
