16 Oct 1761. Will of John Hightower, Senr of Nottoway Parish, Amelia County. To beloved wife Mary during her life, four Negros - Cate, old Sarah, Fanny and Adam and what is not otherwise disposed of.
To son Wm Hightower and his heirs foreve, Negro wench Nann and her increase and Negro man Dick
To daughter Elenor Didson & heris Negro wench Winney and her increase all but Harry. one Negro man Adam after death of my wife.
To son John Hightower and his heirs Negro wench Ales and her increase and Negro man Charles and the land whereon I now live, also a small tract between George Hightower's line and the land he bought of Charles Williams
To son Joshua & heirs on Negro wench Eve and her increase and Negro man Harry and the land I bargained with William Croucher for.
To son Thomas Hightower & heirs, Negro wench young Sarah & her increase and Negro man Kitt.
To son George Hightower & heirs, Negro wench Judy and her increase & Negro lad Andrew.
To son Richard Hightower & heirs forever, my riding horse & saddle & two cows & calves & two sows & pigs and after the death of my wife, the Negro wenches Cate, old Sarah & Fanny. If either George or Richard died without heirs their part to be equally divided amongst the rest of my children.
