Charles E. ADAMSON

RECORD OF DELAWARE CO INDIANA:
Charles accompanied his parents to Iowa and received his education in the schools of that state. When the family returned to Howard Co, he came to Muncie in Delaware Co. and in the spring of 1883 established his law practice pertaining to patents. He has a large number of clerks in the Muncie office & in his branch offices in Washington and Chicago.
There is a letter from Chas. E. Adamson on his business letterhead included in the Pension File of his father Edom. There is no date but states: "Dear Sir: I have never received a reply to my letter of November 21st, 1891 in regard to Edom Adamson, Late P. Co. A, 130 Reg't Ind Inf. Please let me hear something."
No copy of the original letter is in the file, nor is there any copy of reply to Charles Adamson.
The very attractive letterhead shows "The Adamson Company", Patent Agents, W. Jackson St.,Muncie, Indiana. There was also an Eastern Branch in Washington, DC, and a Western Branch in Denver, Colorado. Some of the advertising states:

Wife Louisa was the daughter of Dr. Robert Polk of Centre Township, Delaware Co IN.

Charles is said to have died 1 Aug 1940 and be buried Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie, IN - found on Family Tree, Ancestry.com.

Charles E. Adamson died 1 Aug 1940 of pneumonia complicated by senility and myocarditis. He died at his home, Main & Meridian Sts. in Redkey,Jay Co, Indiana. He was widowed; occupation - attorney. He was born 25 Aug 1862 in Howard Co IN. Mrs. Leo Schoppe of the same address was the informant. His father was "Edon" Adamson, b. Howard Co, IN - his mother and unknown Timmons. Charles was buried Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie on August 3rd.
