Henry P. King

(1837 - )

His family moved to SW Missouri in 1838. In 1853, King immigrated West, crossing the plains with an ox team. After six months on the road he arrived in the Territory of Oregon where he remained for two years. He engaged passage on a sailing brig to San Francisco where he arrived in March of 1855, remaining there until Oct of 1866. He then sailed via Central America, probably arriving in New Orleans. He reached Van Buren in December of 1866.
