Abraham & Anna Veronica had 13 children. They emigrated to PA from Bonfeld, Germany, in 1717 & apparently died enroute, possibly buried at sea. Name also seen as Merckle, Merkle, Markle.

Last page of the Bonfeld churchbook is a Pastor's list of Emigrants from the Village.
Under the date of 1710: Johannes Heyd with his family, and Justus Heyd, his son, with his family
1717: Abraham Merckle, his wife with 5 ch. and his son in law, among others.

There is a folder in the Montgomery Co PA Historical Society which lists the information about the children of Abraham.

Abraham Mercle, the son of Jorg and Eva Merklin of the District of Wimpfen in the Grand Duchy of Hesse, Germany, was born 1 Mar 1664. According to the Church Book of Bonfeld, District of Heilbronn, Germany, Abraham Mercle married Anna Verinica Landvatter, 27 Jul 1684. The birth of their 13 children (6 of these children died young) is also recorded in the Church Book of Bonfeld. Abraham and Eva's eldest daughter, Anna Marie, married Hans Yost Heydt, 11 Nov 1704, in Bonfeld. The young couple sailed on the ship "Fifth Party" and arrive in New York, 1710, living first in Kingston, Ulster County, New York. Hans Yost Heydt and his family were living in Pennsylvania by 1714 in the Perkiomen region, where he became known as Jost Hite. Hite along with Robert McKay and Benjamin Borden promoted the settling of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Abraham Mercle with his wife Anna Verinica,; daughters, Anna Katherine, Regina Christine, Anna rosina, Anna, Felizitas; a son-in-law; and son Jacob came to Pennsylvania in 1717. It is believed that Abraham settled in Phildelphia County, now know as Montgomery County, where Jost Hite and the Heinrich Frey families were also living. Regina Christine (also referred to a Anna Christine andChristian Anne) and Benjamin Frye were married in 1720. Abraham's son Jacob, who settled in the Skippack region, was the first known to use the Markley spelling for his surname. Jacob Markley married Barbara Dotterer, 13 Feb 1722, and they were assiciated with the Augusta Evangelical Lutheran Church.
