Jesse ADAMSON

(Abt 1794 - Sep 1869)

Jesse married Priscilla Wilson about 1813. Said to be the daughter of Abraham Wilson and Sarah McLean.

1840. Grant, Indiana.
Jesse Adamson: 1m under 5, 1m 5-10, 2m 10-15, 1m age 40-50 (born bet 1790 and 1800) and 1f under 5, 1f 5-10, 2f 10-15, 1f 15-20, 1 f age 30-40

Jesse was in the 1850 Census in Mercer Co. MO, p.388b; Household 200. He was age 57, b. TN. Priscilla was 56 also b. TN. The children had been born in MO: Arbozandra [female] age 16, Henderson 15, Delila 13 and James age 10.

Also living in Mercer Co as found on p.380b; Household 98 was Simon Anderson age 27, b. TN and Mary J. age 26, b. MO, William age 2 or 7 months. I believe this Simon must be another son of Jesse and Priscilla because in 1860 in Texas, Mary J. now widowed lived next door to Jesse & Priscilla.

1860. Precinct 9, Weston P.O. in Collin Co TX; p.105 Household 820. Jesse Adamson, age 64, Farmer b. TN, Priscilla age 62. James M, age 19, b. in MO.
In the previous household Mary J. Adamson age 37, b. MO was living with J. G. Ingless and his wife Frances. She had William M. age 10 and Larkin A. age 9. I believe she was the widow of Simon, and probably a daughter-in-law of Jesse & Priscilla.
Household 821 is Wm H. Adamson, age 25, no doubt the Henderson, age 15, in 1850. With him is Rebecca age 20 and children Silvester 3 and Martha E. age 1, both born in TX. So apparently these families had moved to Texas by 1857.
