Individual Details

James Samuel Thompson Jr.

(2 Mar 1804 - 3 Oct 1843)

Stone may actually read 1848. Died at age 39 years, 7 months, 1 day. So this would also alter his birth year. He appears to have had children in 1845 and 1847. He originally owned the land where the Thompson Cemetery is located.

Leonida Horney, his wife's brother-in-law, was guardian of some of the children but there's an error in the brief abstract as posted:
Schuyler Co IL Estates & Wills, 1850-1868 Online at Schuyler County IL, USGenWeb
p.194 7 Feb 1853 William C. Thompson, Samuel S. Thompson, Jo. Allen Thompson, deceased. Leonidas Horney, Guardian
Note: The son Joseph Allen Thompson was living with his mother in the 1860 census so he certainly was not deceased in 1853. I believe the entry was mis-read. These seem to be the sons of James S. Thompson, dec'd.
