Came on the Pennsylvania Merchant in 1731 with his parents.

Philip Wendal, assignee of Chris. Wandall. 17 Feb 1751. 221 acres on Tom's Brook. One of the chain carries was Mathias Gabbert. There is also another mention of Mathias' father Frederick living on Tom's Brook.
Jacob Rife, assignee of Mathias Gabbert/Gabbord. Surv'd 17 Feb 1752. 300 acres on Tom's Brook, to include where he lives. cc: Michael Gabbert


Mathias bought land in Augusta Co VA in 1769; moved to Rockbridge Co about 10 years later.
Will dated in 1790 was probated 3 Jul 1798, Rockbridge Co VA.
Sons George, Michael, Peter and John all moved to Kentucky. George was in the 1810 Census in Lincoln Co KY. He died there in 1821. Michael, Peter & John were in Mercer Co for the 1810 Census. John moved to Daviess about 1815 and later had land in both Daviess and Hancock Counties.
