In a meeting of the Fannin Co PTA Council, there was a luncheon:
"Luncheon was served by the Ladonia PTA and was followed by a solo, 'The World's Prayer' by Cadman, sung by Mrs. Lucien Fry. Mary Lucile Cain sang a number then later was joined by three other little girls, Rosemary Haden, Clara Haden, and Janice Graves, who sang in costume, 'My Mom'."

Engagement of Ladonia Couple Is announced at Morning Reception
LADONIA - A morning reception announcing the engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Rosemary Haden to Roy Benton Marcum was given Tuesday at the home of Mrs. J. B. Haden Jr., aunt of the bride-to-be. The wedding will take place at First Baptist Church here August 28 at 8 o'clock in the evening.
Receiving the guests were Miss Haden, Mrs. J. B. Haden Jr., Mrs. Lowden Kelley, sister of the groom-elect, and Miss Lucy Cowling. Mrs. J. T. Miller presided at the register and Mrs. A. B. Cain, Mrs. B. M. Felty, and Miss Clara Haden served refreshments.
The bride-to-be's chosen colors of blue and yellow were carried out in the decorations and refreshment plate.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Haden of Ladonia and Mr. Marcum is the son of John Henry Marcum and the late Mrs. Marcum of Ladonia.
Miss Haden has been employed as home economist for the Lone Star Gas Co in Dallas and Wichita Falls.

Miss Rosemary Haden of Dallas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will F. Haden of Ladonia and Roy Benton Marcum, son of J. H. Marcum of Ladonia, were married here Saturday evening in the First Baptist Church.
The Rev. M. D. Durham was the officiant. Mrs. Y. J. Sharp, pianist, and Miss Docia Schultz, vocalist, furnished the wedding music.
Attendants were Miss Clara Haden of Austin, maid of honor; Mrs. John T. Whitson Jr of Fort Worth and Mrs. Joe S. Boyd of Austin, bridesmaids.
George Kendrick of Mount Pleasant was the best man, and the ushers were Eugene Marcum of Commerce, John T. Whitson Jr. of Ft. Worth, Will F. Haden Jr. of Dallas and Joe S. Boyd of Austin.
A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. H. L. Marcum cut the cake and Mrs. J. Fred Keeling presided at the bride's book. Mrs. J. B. Haden Jr. served the punch.

The couple left for a wedding trip to points in South Texas. Upon their return they will make their home in Tulsa, Okla.
The bride attended Texas State College for Women at Denton. The bridegroom has attended East Texas State Teachers College at Commerce for the past two years. He served as pilot in the Naval Reserve for three and a half years.

Rosemary H. Marcum, 95, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born May 18, 1925 in Ladonia, TX to Will & Florein (Flo) Haden. Rosemary met Roy Benton Marcum at a young age and waited for him to get back from serving in World War II as members of The Greatest Generation. Once Roy returned, Rosemary got to marry the love of her life, Roy Benton Marcum, on August 8, 1948 in Ladonia, TX. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Denton, TX at Texas State College for Women. Rosemary did many things in life and had careers as a Dietitian, at Lone Star Gas, ONG, and nursing homes. She attended and served in many different Southern Baptist Churches throughout her lifetime. She cared deeply for her family and friends, including the members at Meadowood Baptist Church.
Rosemary is survived by her son James Benton Marcum and daughter-in-law Lynell Marcum; daughter Suzanne Marcum Tapp and son-in-law Dennis Tapp; granddaughter Karen Owens and husband Cody Owens, granddaughter Kristen Tapp Silhavey and husband Dan Silhavey; and great-grandchildren Gracie Rose Owens, Gentry McKayla Owens, Gwyneth Marie Owens, and Molly Rose Silhavey.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Benton Marcum and brother Will Haden, Jr.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with family present from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City, OK. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Commerce Funeral Home in Commerce, TX with interment to follow at Ladonia Cemetery in Ladonia, TX.
The family would like to thank Epworth Villa staff and friends for all their loving care for Rosemary for the past nine years. Please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice in honor of Rosemary H. Marcum.
