Capt. in the KY Mounted Militia during the War of 1812. Served in Ewings Regt. From: KY State Hist Society Register, Vol. 1, p.35. He succeeded his brother Spencer, as County Court Clerk of Logan Co KY.

Logan Co DB S, p.233 6 Jan 1834 Levi Graham and wife sold 133 acres to the heirs of Samuel H. Curd, dec'd for $1. Deeded to Graham by Wm L. Sands & wife; land on waters of Edgar Creek of the Elk Lick. Heirs were Polly S. Morton, late Polly S. Curd, Samuel Haws Curd, Richard S. Curd, and Lucy F. Curd.
