William Comstock

(1766 - 16 Dec 1833)

Comstock book says William was born abt 1761, but then says he died in 1833 at age 63 which would be a birth year of 1770.

Comstock book lists 3 wives for this William Comstock, 1st (unk); 2nd Frinda Hawkins of Winchester, NH, dau of Judge Daniel Hawkins; 3rd Fanny Bibins/Biven. Lists his children as being of 1st wife but then cites the Will of Daniel Hawkins in 1823 as bequeathing to the heirs of Frinda Comstock. Frinday & William Comstock were married 11 Mar 1804; only the oldest son seems to have been born before this date. Frinda Hawkins Comstock died prior to 1823 - it's possible the remaining children were hers and there were no children by the 3rd wife.. Actually the article about Will Comstock, Indian Scout, by Gray states that there were 5 children by Frieda Hawkins, two more sons by Fannie Bivens.
William was a Major in the War of 1812 and later made General.
