Miles Jackson Webb died 6 Jan 1953 at his hom in Lamar, Johnson Co of pneumonia and he had sustained a traumatic injury in 1951, His wagon & horse was struck by car. He was a retired farmer. Born 30 Jun 1864 in Pope Co, AR. He was married. His father was Miles Webb; his mother, Sarah Monrow. John B. Webb was the informant. Buried Lamar Cemetery, Jan 8th.

Miles Jackson Webb And Amanda Melvina Davis Webb (Descendants Born in Arkansas):
Miles Jackson Webb and Amanda Malvina [Melvina] Davis Webb were married in Pope County but soon moved to California where their first two children were born. The remained there five years before returning to Arkansas, settling just over the Pope-Johnson Co. line in Johnson County where they remained, raising their family of eleven children, nine of which were born in Arkansas.
1. Maude Jane Webb, their third child was born January 23 1894, at Macedonia, near Lamar.
2. Myrtle Webb, born April 2, 1896, at Macedonia, married at Clarksville on August 30, 1918, to Sidney Garner Cazort, born August 1, 1879, died September 29, 1933, buried at Cazort Cemetery, Lamar. Their children: James Robert Webb Cazort, born July 3, 1919, married at San Angelo, Texas on December 24, 1942, Anna Beth Cain, born September 2, 1916, at Seymour, Iowa. On March 12, 1973, he married Mary Frances Hallun Reid, born May 23, 1923 at Coy, Ark.; Myrtle Webb Cazort, born February 3, 1921, married at Lamar on June 2, 1946, Fred Ewing, born April 24, 1918, at Nederland, Colo.; Sidney Belle Webb Cazort, born November 24, 1922, married at Seattle, Wash., January 21, 1955, William Bernard Nash, born February 1, 1927 at Seattle.
3. James Franklin Webb, born May 18, 1898 at Strawberry Community, died of pneumonia, October 29, 1932, buried at Lamar. He married at Lamar on November 24, 1918, Maggie Elizabeth Murphy, born January 24, 1901, died November 7, 1977, buried at Lamar. Their children: Opal Allene Webb, born November 11, 1919, married at Clarksville, December 27, 1941, Franklin Kirby Rutledge, born January 18, 1918 at Fort Douglas; James Franklin Webb Jr., born June 17, 1922, married at Tulsa, Ok., May 29, 1946, Maria Sue Johnson, born September 7, 1927, at Mt. Zion Community; Harold Jackson Webb, born December 15, 1924, at Lamar; Mitchell Joseph Webb, born October 14, 1929, died at Tulsa, Ok., July 30, 1977, buried at Lamar. He married Martha Gray in Johnson Co., December 26, 1948 and married Joan Jones Glover at Tulsa on August 26, 1966.
4. Sallie Ann Webb, born March 31, 1901, at Macadonia [Macedonia], married at Ludwig, May 1, 1928 to Heman Arvie Martin, born August 15, 1904, died February 5, 1970, buried at Mt. Vernon.
5. Ora Belle Webb, born February 9, 1903, died February 19, 1903, buried at Macedonia.
6. John Burl Webb, born January 31, 1907, married March 17, 1929 at Clarksville, Lucy Lorene Sharyer, born April 23, 1907. Their son, John Burl Webb Jr. born February 7, 1930, at Truman, Ark., married at Little Rock, May 26, 1950, Barbara Jean Davidson, born September 1, 1931, at Little Rock.
7. Ola Jo Amanda Webb, born August 27, 1906, died April 5, 1931, at Malvern in an automobile accident and is buried at Lamar.
8. Eva Lee Webb, born December 13, 1908, married at Ft. Smith on February 1, 1935, George Evan Neece, born December 29, 1914 at Ft. Smith. Their children: Nancy Lee Neech [Neece], born May 27, 1936, married at Ft. Smith, February 1, 1957, John Charles Garrett, born September 21, 1936 at Rogers; George Webb Neece, born November 19, 1937, married at Ft. Smith, August 8, 1963, Barbara Martha Geren, born November 8, 1942, in Ft. Smith.
9. Mitchell Jackson Webb, born February 27, 1912, married at Conway, June 1, 1935, Lois May Havener, born April 15, 1916. Their children: Jackie Ann Webb, born December 21, 1936 at Russellville, married at Hot Springs, October 1, 1957, Glen Brewer. She married at Clarksville on November 23, 1959, John Thomas Simmons Jr., born December 12, 1929, died June 4, 1980, buried at Shady Grove; Bobbie John Webb, born March 19, 1941, at Forrest City, married at Lamar, May 6, 1967, Rebecca Jo Ann Lawyer, born September 16, 1947 at Harlan, Ky., daughter of Normanda Webb Lawyer.
In 1980 eight of the eleven children of Miles Jackson and Amanda Melvina Davis Webb are still living, and there has not been a death of the brothers and sisters since 1932, forty-eight years.
Miles Jackson died at age 88, January 6, 1953, of pneumonia and Amanda Melvina Davis Webb, died at age 93, August 18, 1964. They are buried at Lamar. They lacked 20 days of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.

Miles Jackson Webb was born June 30, 1864 at Dover, Pope County, son of Miles Jackson Webb Sr. and Sarah Morrow Webb.
Amanda Melvina Davis was born April 14, 1817, in Johnson County, Ark., daughter of William Davis of N.C. and Jane Brown Davis of Mo.
Miles Jackson Webb, age 23, married Amanda Melvina Webb, age 16, on January 22, 1888, at Lebanon, Johnson County, Ark by C.J. Stewart, MG.
Lebanon was on Piney Creek on the Lamar side while Hickeytown was ont he other side of the creek. The mail came by horse from Dover, to Hickeytown, Lebanon and Lamar. It is not between Lamar and Minnow Creek as stated in Vol. I, History of Pope County, Miles Jackson and Sarah Morrow Webb article. That area was Caperton, and Jack and Amanda served as post masters there.
Soon after their marriage, they went to California as Amanda's sister Myra, was there. They went by wagon train and stage coach. They lived in Fresno and their first two children were born there. They returned to Arkansas to assume the responsibilities of their parents and families.
Miles Jackson Webb and Amanda Davis Webb were parents of eleven children and grandparents of 22 grandchildren. The children born in California are:

Webb, born June 21, 1980, Fresno, Calif., married on November 5, 1914, at Clarksville, Bessie Leona Pearson, born November 21, 1887, died February 19, 1969 and is buried at Lamar. Their children: Miles J. WebbJr. (known as Son) born July 23, 1915, died august 5, 1938. Melva Lee (Melvina Leona) Webb, born June 1919, died five days later; Maude Emma Webb, born August 19, 1920, married at Lamar July 5, 1941, James Wade Daniel, born November 11, 1914, at Lynchburg, Tenn.; Normanda Webb, born November 4, 1921, married December 24, 1943 at Lamar, Dean Louis Lawyer, born May 8, 1921, at Bismarck, N.D.; Kansas Nell Webb, born August 8, 1923, married at Searcy, December 23, 1951, Jack Pruett, born October 27, 1925, at Newport; Joseph Alfred Webb, born May 23, 1927, married at Stillwater, Okla., September 20, 1950, Nell Young, born February 9, 1933.
2. Lil-lias May Webb, born February 2, 1892, in Fresno, Calif., married at Hagerville, October 15, 1910, William Lawrence Alter, born January 6, 1890, died January 3, 1963 and buried at Lamar. Their children: John Lawrence Alter, born December 1, 1911, married at Sallisaw, Oklahoma, August 12, 1929, Opal McGehee, born May 22, 1911, died October 1974 and buried at Ozark. He married at Fairbanks, Alaska on September 30, 1954, Leone Murphy Lindquist; Inez Alter, born September 23, 1913, died May 1945, also buried at Ozark. She married at Ozark, Hence Jacoway Hill; Willie May Alter, born May 7, 1919, died October 4, 1920, Lester John Bohnsack, born November 15, 1919, died April 1, 1977, buried at National Cemetery, Little Rock, Arkansas.
