The only sears family in Lyme at this time was Ricahrd & Bashua (Harlow) Sears, who had moved from Plymouth, MA to Lyme in 1719. Four sons. Seth, b. 1699 and John, b. 1707, are known to have married other women. Son James, b. 1705 left a widow Hannah in 1774 - she could have been a second wife. Their oldest son, Silas, bought land in Lyme in 1727, making him the most likely candidate for the husband Silence Tiffany.
