Lorenzo was son of Thomas and Mary Jane Cavinor Gold. He married Campse Dell West 1880 in MO. He opened and managed a canning plant in Union City (School), MO. Moved to Baca Co., CO in 1912 and homesteaded there.

Campse Dell West was born 26 Mar 1863, Belmost Co, Ohio. She is said to have died 27 May 1924, Lamar, Prowers Co, CO. I wonder though if she didn't die in Baca County instead - most of the family was still there in 1930, including her husband, unless one of the other children was already in Prowers County and she was visiting.

There are also stories of the family on WorldConnect. One of these tells that Lorenzo injured his foot as a young man, resulting in infection and amputation. His foot and lower leg are said buried in the White Family Graveyard, Stone Co, MO and the stone has a picture of a foot and four toes. The stone was there in 1945, but is not now. He used a peg leg after the amputation.
Another story is that of how Lorenzo, his wife, and young son Earl, came to be buried in Parsons, Kansas. "Uncle Earl Gold was in Parsons, Kansas with Uncle Ira and Aunt Susie when the flu of 1918 swept the country and he died at the age of 19. He was buried in Parsons. Grandma Campcedell then died in 1924. Her body was shipped to Parsons and buried by Earl."
