Individual Details

Mary Martha Ann Gaines

( - Bef 1843)

Found two possible earlier marriages for Wm F: Warren County KY, Wm Haden married Elizabeth J. Proctor on 11 September 1837, solemnized by D. L. Mansfield, also Wm. F. Hayden to Mary A. Gaines on June 13, 1837, solemnized by D. L. Mansfield. The marriage to Elizabeth Proctor was also recorded in Logan Co and the 1850 Logan Co Census reveals a William Haden with a wife Elizabeth - William Franklin was already in Missouri and married to Mary Jane Perkins by 1850. Elizabeth Proctor was actually the wife of William Haden, son of Samuel H. Haden and a first cousin to William Franklin Haden. Interestingly the marriage to Mary Jane Perkins in Missouri was also recorded as Wm. F. "Hayden".

Found bond, Warren Co, KY.
"Know all men by these presents, that we William Haden and Thomas B. Gaines are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the penal sum of 50 pounds ...dated this 10th day of June 1837 ...marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the said Haden and Martha M. A. Gaines
Singed: William F. Haden, Thomas B. Gaines
A list of marriages in Warren Co, lists Thomas B. Gaines as her father - probably there was a permission.
Note: Signature in William F.'s own hand was plainly HADEN.

In 1839, when William F. Haden sold his land in Logan Co, his wife Mary Martha Ann Haden relinquished dower.

Thomas B. Gaines is a possible brother for Mary. There is a Warren Co KY marriage for Thomas B. Gains to Mary Ann Corbin, 14 Jun 1845.
