19 Feb 1755 DB 2, p.211 Joseph Lane made a deed of gift to his grandchildren: daughters of my son John, viz: Ann Lane, Mary Lane and Patience Lane, daughter-in-law, Mary Lane. Witnesses: Joseph Lane, James Lane.


Edgecombe Precinct/County Deed Book 2, p.319. 12 Aug 1755. John Lane of Georgia, heir at law of Patience Lane, to Joseph Lane of Edgecombe County. All houses, barnes, mills, stables etc. that fell to me by my GRANDFATHER'S will as by the will of Col. Barnaby McKinney to his son Richard McKinnie and said Richard died without issue. 300 acres fell to his [Barnaby's] son John McKinney and the remaining part to his (John's) two DAUGHTERS Patience Lane and Mourning Pope.

John Lane made his will 13 Feb 1774, probated Jan 1776. Names son David Lane (Executor), grandson, David Lane; daughters - Olive Joyner, Ann Everard, Keziah McKinnie, Patience Joyner, Mary Pittman, Mourning Lane & Jillian Lan. Wit: McKinnie Howell, david Summers.
