Mary Noland was the daughter of Jesse Noland and Sarah Barbara Turner. Mary's brother Smallwood Turner Noland married Aaron's sister Nancy McMonigle.

Will Of Aaron McMonigle
In the name of God, Amen! I, Aaron McMonigle of the county of Estill and State of Kentucky, being in the possession of my proper mind and memory and having a desire to settle my own business being conscious that I cannot continue long. Do ordain, constitute and appoint this my last will and testament, to-wit.
1st It is my wish that all my just debts be paid.
2nd I will and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Ann McMonigle my sorrel horse, called Jim, saddle and bridle, with a first rate bed and furniture, also forty dollars in money.
3rd I will and bequeath unto my daughter, Paulini Thetas McMonigle my horse called Brown, and a saddle, bridle and blanket to be worth twenty five dollars also forty dollars in money and a first rate bed and furniture.
4th I will and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Davis McMonigle when she arrives to sixteen years of age, one horse worth eighty dollars, one saddle bridal and blanket, worth twenty five dollars. One first rate bed and furniture, also forty dollars in money.
5th This will make my three daughters equal with what I have given to Sarah Jane, my daughter, in my life time.
6th I will and bequeath unto my son Aaron McMonigle when he arrives at the age of eighteen, one horse worth eighty dollars, saddle bridal and blanket worth twenty five dollars and one first rate bed and furniture, one good suit of clothes together with a good english education, the expense whereof to be defrayed out of my estate.
7th I will and bequeath unto my sister-in-law Rebecca Noland, one mare called the "Butterage", together with three hundred dollars in money out of the first money that is collected of my estate.
8th It is my wish that my family remain together and keep house as though I was with them and that Rebecca Noland remain with and take charge of and raise my children.
9th It is my wish that the lower half of the farm on which I live is set apart for the use and benefit and support and raising of my children, also twenty head of sheep, twenty head of hogs, four choice milk cows, the best yoke of oxen on the place, together with two young bay mares, also a sufficient part of the crop and provisions now on hand for the support of family the present year and if there is a surplus it is to be sold; also I leave Alfred and Anderson my two servant boys and Martha my servant girl to cultivate the farm and make provisions for the family; also a sufficient quantity of my farming utensils for the cultivation of the farms, also that the family is to have and enjoy all the benefits of that part of the farm until my son Aaron McMonigle is twenty-one years old.
10th It is my wish that the upper part of the farm on which I live be leased or rented out until my son Aaron is twenty-one years old.
11th It is my with that my servant John be hired out until my son Aaron is twenty-one years old.
12th When my son Aaron is twenty-one years old, then I will and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Jane Daniel my servant John.
13th When my son is twenty-one as above I then will and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Ann my servant man Anderson.
14th When my son is twenty-one as above I then will and bequeath unto my daughter Paulina Thetas my servant man Alfred.
15th When my son is twenty-one as above I then will and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Davis my servant girl Martha and one child.
16th I will and bequeath unto my son Aaron McMonigle when he arrives to the age of twenty-one the whole of the farm on which I now live. Also it is my wish that all the stock on the farm at the time my son is twenty-one be sold.
17th It is my wish that at my death or as soon after, as may be, all my perishable property of every description that is not set apart for the support of the family be sold.
18th It is my wish that all the proceeds of the sales of my property and land together with all money belonging to my estate, when my son is twenty-one years old, be equally divided among my four daughter, namely Sarah Jane Daniel, Rebecca Ann, Pauline Thetas, and Mary Davis McMonigle.
I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty and faithful friends Francis Noland and Andrew D. Campbell the executors of this my last will and testament, with full powers to carry into full effect each and every part thereof. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of February, 1842.
