Nathan Comstock Jr.

Nathan's first seven children were born in Palmyra, New York, the others in the area that would be Lockport.
Nathan was a pioneer of Lockport, having settled there in the wilderness before 1816, several years before the canal was constructed. Joseph, Jared, and Darius also moved there as soon as the canal was located.
7 Apr 1818, first town meeting of Lockport, Nathan was elected one of the overseers of the the poor, one of the commissioners of highways, one of the inspectors, and one of the fence viewers.
In 1822, when the Erie Canal was laid out, it passed through his farm.
Letters of administration were issued on his estate, 15 Oct 1829, to his sons Stephen and Daniel.
