John married Eliza Macomb in 1829. John N. Rose became a citizen of Yates Co., NY, and purchased 1,058 acres of land on the east side of the west branch of Keuka Lake, of which his title to 250 acres was found to be invalid, but he retained the rest. In 1838, he erected a stone mansion overlooking the Lake; it was named Esperanza. He sold 362 acres of the land to his nephew, Robert S. Rose, from the south side, and gave 185 acres to his wife's nephew, John N. Macomb, Jr. There is no record of his children, if any, in the History. (2011 - Esperanza is a hotel.)

Jane Eliza Macomb Rose
The daughter of John Navarre Macomb,II and Christina Livingston, she married John Nicholas Rose in 1829. Her mother is buried here.
Inscription:
"Jane Eliza wife of John Nicholas Rose Born in New York City May 5, 1809 Died In Branchport Sept. 10, 1891 "So he giveth his beloved sleep."
