Individual Details
Moses Dimon
(Abt 1638 - Bef 15 Apr 1684)
The Ward book gives Moses a birth of 1648 but it's likely the 1638 is closer to being correct. He was over 14 in 1658 when his father died. His brother Thomas was apprenticed for five years, indicating he was likely about 16 or born 1642 or so. Moses wasn't apprenticed so probably old enough to make his own way.
Moses Dimon purchased land from John Purdy, 19 Dec 1670. He witnessed a deed from John Burr to Jehu Burr in early 1673.
Will dated 21 Mar 1683. Names wife Abigail, son Moses; daughters Abigail, Hester, and Grace. Brethren John Burr and Samuel Ward, overseers. Inventory was dated 15 Apr 1684.
After Moses' death, Abigail married by contract dated 2 Jun 1685, Edward Howard.
The overseers of Moses Dimon's will complained to the Court on 9 Feb 1685/6 against Edward Howard, Executor by marriage. He was engaged to pay the portions to the children. On 16 Mar 1687/8, Abigail Howard complained that she wanted comforts and provisions for herself and child. The Court ordered Abigail to live with one of the overseers of Dimon's estate at the charge of her husband Howard until he provides.
