[paraphrased]
Joseph John Randel and wife Ann and their eleven children were Quakers. They are first recorded living in the Bush River area of South Carolin. They died in Preble Co, Ohio. Their son Moses and his wife Rebecca lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Kentuck, Indiana, and Perry County, TN - they were the parents of six children. When they were living in Spencer Co IN they converted to the Baptist church. Moses & Rebecca's oldest son Amos was born in Georgia; he married Rebecca Finn in Sumner Co TN; their second child was born in Indiana. By 1820, Moses and his family and Amos & Rebecca were on Rockhouse Creek, Perry Co. In 1823, Amos received a land grant on the upper part of Cedar Creek where he remained. Amos & Rebecca had eight childr. The oldest, Polly, married James Kelley - they raised a large family in Missouri and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. William Riley Randel married Caroline Comstock and had 10 children; they moved to Missouri and then to Kansas. Rebecca Finn Randel was hung by bush whackers during the Civil War; she was able to touch her toes to the ground. A family servant hid in the bushes and cut her down as soon as he could but she never fully recovered. There are Randel descendants still in Perry County but none with the name Randel.
