Five young men enlisted in the US Navy through the Sayre recruiting office and a Towandan reenlisted. It was announced today by Chief Walter Yale, recruiter.
Two of the enlistees are Sayreites, Richard Eike, son of Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Eike and Charles A. Nittinger, son of Mr. & Ms. Charles R. Nittinger of 312 North Elmer Ave, were sent to Newport, RI for recruit training along wit Russell LeRoy Wilmot of 216 York Avenues, Towanda....
