10 May 1707 Deed from Wm Downing to Pierce Knowland for 2000#’s tobacco, tract on Potomack Creek, 100 acres. Part of 200 acres granted Downing 12 Jul 1692. Signed: Wm (D) Downing. Wit: George Rolaney, Hen. Conyers. Proved Downing. Wife Diana relinquished dower rights.

9 Mar 1724 Deeds of L&R Pierce Knowland of Overwarton Parish, Stafford Co to Henry Suddeth for 5sh. 60 acres upon Potomack Run, being the plantation whereon Pierce Knowland, father to Pierce Knowland lived. Part of 100 acres bought from William Downing being part of 200 acres granted Downing 12 Jul 1692, repatented by sd Knowland 3 Jul 1712, patented & surveyed for 120 acres and given devised & bequeathed to the three youngest sons by will dated 20 Jan 1715 to be equally divided, after which Thomas of the three sons departed this life in his minority, whereby it was divided between the survivors.

Does this Pierce also have records in Fairfax Co? A deed of his nephew's - Pierce that married Sarah Awbrey refers to him as Pierce, Jr. yet his father was Philip Pierce -he could well have been a Jr in this time period as the younger Pierce if his uncle was present. I find no other possibility. Also there is this:
