MRS. MORTON FUNERAL WILL BE HELD TODAY
Burial of Retired U.S. Worker to Be in Rock Creek Cemetery
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Morton, 67, who died Wednesday at her home, 906 Allison Street, were to be held at 2:30 pm today at St. Paul's M.E. Church South, with Rev. Dr. W. F. Locke, pastor, officiating. Burial was to be in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Morton, widow of Charles P. Morton, had been a resident of this city about 18 years and formerly was employed for 15 years in the Indian Claims Department, General Accounting Office. She was retired a year ago.
A notice of Greenvill, Ky., she was a member of a chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star there.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Burks of this city and Mrs. W. S. Lasswell of Takoma Park, Mc. Eight grandchildren also survive.
