LAST RITES FOR MR. TOM OWEN
Slidell was saddened at the death of Mr. Tom Owen, aged 71 years, Wednesday night, Sep 11, 1940.
Born in Nashville, Tenn. he lived there for about twenty years, when he moved to Louisiana and has lived here ever since.
He is survived by his widow, the former Jessie Verdell Pittman, also of Tennessee, and four stepchildren: D. A., A. F. and R. R. Wilkins and Mrs. J. V. Carver. Only Mrs. Carver lives in Slidell, where she has been staying with her parents.
Funeral services were held from the Poole Funeal Home at 5 o'
clock Thursday afternoon. Interment took place in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Luman E. Douglas officiating.
We wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to those left to mourn him.
