Rev. Robert Upchurch, 91, retired Primitive Baptist minister, died in the Memorial Hospital in Alton at 9 am today. He was a former resident of Raleigh.
Surviving are his wife, Mollie Upchurch; six children: Sigel Upchurch, Eldorado; Tom Upchurch, Raleigh; Mrs. Vernon Rodes, Rosewood Heights; Mrs. Dan Ross, Roxana; Miss Fern Upchurch, Wood River; and James Upchurch with the Armed Forces in Germany; two half brothers, Sam Barton, Galatia, and Henry Barton, Raleigh: 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The body will be brought to the Courtney Funeral Home in Alatia to lie in state at a time to be announced later. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
