Mrs. Crain, Resident of County 40 Years, Dies
Mrs. Irene Crain, 85, died at 3 o'clock yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Clark, six miles southeast of Coffeyville.
Mrs. Crain was born April 30, 1850 at Rockport, Ind., and came to Labette County, 40 years ago, settling about six miles southeast of Coffeyville. She married Merritt Dickerson in January, 1868, at Oconee, IL. A second marriage was to Dan Crain, Oct. 1908, at Independence.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving her are Mr. Crain; three sons, G. W. Dickerson, Dearing, KS, Homer Dickerson of Mountain Home, Ark., and J. A. Dickerson of Pittsburg; two duaghters, Mrs. L. E. Trowbridge, Kansas city, and Mrs. D. G. Clark, Coffeyville; two brothers, Albert Hildebrandt, Kansas City and Nathan Hildebrandt, Wellsville, KS; and one sister, Mrs. Frank Gephart, Eureka, CA. Thirty-one grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
