Beals lists Betsey as daughter of William Wishard Jr's stepmother. Armstrong does not. According to the marriage date of Jacob Rhodes & Elizabeth and estimated birthdate of Betsey as well as a birthplace as Maryland, it's very questionable. A family Tree on FamilySearch gives her parents as Beacham Rhoades and Margaret McCarney - I'm sure Beacham Rhodes was her father - she names a son Beacham Rhoades Wishard.

There must have been some hesitation about marrying the second time. This was recorded twice: "HOOKER,William" "WISHARD,Elizabeth" 26-Oct-1831, as well as 25 Jun 1834.

There is a Public Lands purchase for Elizabeth Hooker in the Ancestry database - in Illinois, but no county stated. Dated 9 Dec 1853, Vol. 105, p.166. Twp 6S, Range 2E, North half the SE quarter - 80 acres. #316755. However, this seems unlikely since William Hooker died 2 May 1855. Since no digital image is available, the date was possibly 1855.
