William and his brother Basil, Sr., led the first group of Catholics from St. Mary's Co., MD to Nelson Co., VA (now KY) in 1785. Settled on Pottinger Creek, Nelson Co., VA, became Washington Co., KY in 1792 and Marion Co., KY in 1834.
Will dated 24 Mar 1794 and proved 5 Jun 1794.
Died of smallpox.
