There is said to a will of Mary's father, stating that his daughter's husband, Francis Winckler is a son of Lewis Winckler of Rowan Co, NC. The Botts lived in Bottstown, York Co, PA - this seems to be about the only record that confirms the Winkler family had come to Rowan from Pennsylvania. This seems to be a rather unlikely statement in a will, but then anything is possible. Would be interesting to actually see the will.
