"There also lived in that neighborhood (New Munster) other Irishmen who received grants of land during the late years of the seventeenth century, and since they named thier 'dwelling plantation' after Irish towns or cities, it is assumed they were natives of these places. Among these I find: Pierce Nowland (Patentee) Fethard (Dwelling Plantation)"
NOTE: New Munster is now part of Cecil Co, MD From the Historical Marker:
NEW MUNSTER
"A Tract of 6,000 acres laid out in 1683 by George Talbot (then Surveyor-General of Maryland) for Edwin O'Dwire and 15 other Irishmen, it's northern boundary extended into what is now the state of Pennsylvania."
