Johanne Wilhemine Auguste
(18 Mar 1840 - 3 Apr 1921)
This is probably not Johanne - their eldest son August Fredrick was born, 1868, and her husband was Wilhelm, not August. But it is certainly close!
A Wilhelmine Priebe, age 28, arrived on the "Weser" in New York on 20 Apr 1868. She was with Aug. Priebe, age 31, a carpenter, Fr. August, age 3, and Rudolf, 3 months. They were from Pomerania and had departed from Bremen, Germany.
The "Weser" was in service from 1867-1896. She was of the North German Lloyd Line, built in Scotland. Two masts, one funnel, and an iron hull. Launched 19 Mar 1867 - her maiden voyage was Bremen-Southampton-New York on 1 Jun 1867. Scrapped in 1896.
Note: Pomerania is a historical region on the south shore of the Baltic Sea and has been divided between Germany and Poland.
