?Tabitha Ann McBee
(Abt 1780 - Bef Nov 1856)
Married Thomas Huddleston 25 Apr 1801 in Grainger Co TN. Samuel McBee, Bondsman. [probably her brother]
it is possible that Tabitha does not belong here in this family - she could be part of the family of Obadiah McBee who was also living in Granger Co at this time. She could be a grandchild of William McBee. Some have made her a daughter of James McBee, William's youngest brother. If she was born in Indiana as stated in the 1850 census, she likely belongs to none of these families - and she would have been a bit to old to be a child of Abigail, wife of William.
A Thomas Huddleston was in McNairy Co TN 1830 & 1840 census. He was age 50-60 in 1830, 60-70 in 1840. Not there in 1850. His spouse was younger - age 40-50 in 1830, a male child was 5-10 with no young females in the household. And his spouse was 50-60 in 1840; no other persons.
It is suggested that Tabitha and Thomas had a daughter Nancy, b. about 1802, a daughter Catherine, b. 1816, and a son, b. about 1823. That's certainly a lot of years between children.
It is also been said that she is the Tabitha Huddleston, found in a Miller Co, MO Census in 1850. She is a bit too young by about 15 years to be a daughter of William & Abigail, and said to be born in Indiana - her age consistent with the earlier censues in McNairy Co. This is the household, 527.
Josiah Birdsong, 52, b. TN. Nancy, 48, b. TN
Benjamin 26, Malinda 22, William 21, Calvin 17, and Loucinda 14, - all born in TN. Evaline 12, Josiah 10, Mary 7, John 5, and Nancy age 1, - b. in Missouri
Tabitha Huddleston, age 70, b. Indiana
However, found in the Letters of Administration, Vol A-D of Miller Co, MO, p.98 i the following:
...Know that whereas Tabitha Huddleston late of the County of Miller died intestate having property in this state... Appoint Josiah Birdsong to be administrator. 30 Nov 1856.
FindAGrave entry claims she was buried Gott Cemetery, Ulman, Miller Co. MO. and listst two daughters:
Nancy Huddleston Birdsong, b. abt 1801, death unknown, perhaps burined Birdsong Cemetery, wife of Josiah Birdsong, 1798-1859.
Catherine Huddleston Birdsong, b. 1806, d. 1875, buried Gott Cemetery, wife of John Birdsong, 1797-1871
There is this - in 1840, also in McNairy County, there was a John Birdsong, age 40-50; his spouse age 30-40, one male child 5-10, 1 f under 5, 3f 5-10, 2f 15-20. This man was not in McNairy Co TN in 1850.
William & Abigail's son James is said to have had a daughter named Tabitha. She would be more likely to have been the age of the Tabitha Huddleston in Missouri, but again, she was not born in Indiana. And that Tabitha married Jeremiah Maxey, son of Josiah Maxey & Martha Arthur, 26 Mar 1818 in Henry Co GA.
