Nannie Hogan died at the Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Grayson Co, TX, where she had been for two months. Her residence was near Bells. She died on 16 Nov 1961 of cerebral hemorrhage and pneumonia. Nannie was born 9 Dec 1868 in Grayson Co, TX and was a widow. Her father was John Samuel Brown; her mother Polly Davidson. Mrs. Ben Coker was the informant. Burial was on Nov 18th, Cedarlawn Cemetery.
An article from the "Sherman Democrat" (9 Dec 1956 Issue) on Nannie's 89th birthday states 8 of her 12 children are still living: Mrs. Lonnie Washburn, Mrs. Ben Coker and Marvin Hogan all of Bells, TX; Mrs. Royse Lay of Whitewright; Mrs. Jerry Haslip of Sherman; Noble J. "Pug" Hogan of Ft. Worth; Herbert J. Hogan of Chicago IL; Mrs. M. L. Biggerstaff of Corpus Christi. She had 13 grandchildren, 2 of whom she raised - Lois McCullom of Kentucky and Mrs. Basie Gore of Corpus Christi. Also living are two sisters, Mrs. Crim age 90, Mrs. Silliman age 82, and two brothers, Frank age 86 and George 84 ...all of Sherman.
By the time of her death in 1961 there were 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild. Frank & Safronia were still living.
Children mentioned in the Obituary of Bud Hogan in 1939 not named in article above were: Marvin Hogan, Sr., & Wade Hogan of Sherman. The children are not listed in order of their births.
Cemetery marker says she died in 1958 which is wrong. Nancy & Bud buried Pink Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. W. J. Hogan
Runeral services were held at 11 am Saturday in Barrett Funeral Chapel, Sherman, for Mrs. W. J. (Bud) Hogan, 92, of Bells, Route 1, who died at 12:10 pm Thursday in a Sherman hospital after an illness of two months.
Rev. Harold Harrod, pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church, and Rev. Dale Gore of Brownwood, Baptist ministers, conducted the services.
Mrs Hogan was born Dec 9, 1868, in the Pink Hill community near Bells. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Samuel Brown. She and Mr. Hogan were married Dec 5, 1889. Mr. Hogan died in 1938. Mrs. Hogan was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church for 60 years.
Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Harry Haizlip of Sherman, Mrs. Royce Lay of Whitewright, Mrs. Marley Biggerstaff of Corpus Christi, and Mrs. Lonnie Washburn and Mrs. Ben Coker, both of Bells; two sons, Herbert Hogan of Chicago, Ill., and N. J. (Pug) Hogan of Fort Worth; a brother, F. M. Brown of Bells; a sister, Mrs. E. L. Silliman of DAllas; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchil; and a number of nieces and nephews.
