MILTON — Norman O. Brouse Sr., 92, of Boiardi Lane, Milton, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born Sept. 8, 1921, in White Springs, Union County, he was the son of the late Homer Ray and Sally (Gessner) Brouse. He was married to the former Ruth Smith. His death breaks a marital union of 69 years.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Brouse served in the 12th Armored Division of the Army. He had worked for D & G Feed Mill and farmed on the Brouse farm south of Milton. He had also worked for DOW Plumbing before starting his own plumbing business in the late 1970s.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Charity Lodge No. 144 of the F & AM, and the American Legion Post 182, all of Lewisburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Norman Jr. and Mary Brouse of Lewisburg, James and Cynthia Brouse of Milton, Ray and Lisa Brouse of Milton, Jeffrey and Tammy Brouse of Milton and Timothy and Nancy Brouse of Shamokin Dam; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Brouse of Milton and Richard Brouse of West Milton; and four sisters, Anna Hague of Chicago, Charlotte Neitz of Milton, Seleca Robenolt of Milton and Shirley Roush of Milton.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Brouse, Robert Brouse and George Brouse; and a sister, Esther Fisher.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Faith Lutheran Church, 2349 Old Turnpike Road, Lewisburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 with the Rev. Gregory A. Kramer officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Dreisbach Cemetery, Lewisburg.
The family will provide flowers and asks that memorial contributions in his name to be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 2349 Old Turnpike Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton.
