When Alexander Grant moved his army to Mercer Co O H a bout 1832 he patented land next to an Ellis family. (Recall this lan d i s located three to seven miles east of the OH IN border...) and in 1 8 40 his daughter marrieda Jackson Ellis. I was late for that opening c u rtain, too, don't know who Jackson Ellis belonged to for sure, but I d o k now who was close by.
