Hi John, Based on 1840 census data, William could only have been the s o n of William H. M. Garner who was living in the 4th Dist. of Charles C o . There were only three families with that surname, two in the 1st Di s t., one of whom was Richard, but he had no sons. He was, however, liv i ng next door to Charles Stuart.
