Individual Details
Inza Adkins
(Abt 1899 - 1962)
She taught one year in Lincoln or Cabell County, WV, riding back and forth on horseback. She was forced to retire from teaching after nearly losing her eyesight due to an infection. After retiring from teaching, she went to work in Huntington, WV at a cigarette factory, where she met Laura McDorman, sister of Lakin. Laura tossed Inza a letter one day from Lakin, who was overseas in WWI at the time, and told her to "answer this one for me." She did, and they began a correspondence which led to their marriage.
