Military
Harvey served in the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy. He was a Sergeant in the 6th Regiment of Virginia Cavalry led by Col. Milton Jameson Ferguson. This regiment was in numerous battles in the area and was distinguished in combat.Endnotes
