The Herald, Rock Hill, South Carolina, Friday, January 28, 2005: Rock Hill---Mrs. Maggie Marian Gross Kirkpatrick, 108, of 1611 Constitution Blvd., formerly of Fort Lawn, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Piedmont Medical Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Chapel in Chester, with the Rev. John Rumford officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Shoals Presbyterian Church cemetery in Richburg. A native of Chester County, Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a daughter of the late Andrew Johnson Gross and Lenora Ferguson Gross. She retired as associate post mistress of Fort Lawn Post Office, was a member of Fort Lawn United Methodist Church, was a graduate of Bascomville High School and was a resident of the Eastern Star Home of S.C. in Sumter until it closed. She was a member of Eastern Star Lancaster Chapter 146, where she was past matron and was a member of Extension Homemakers Club. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fort Lawn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 310, Fort Lawn, SC 29714.
